The UM Graduate Student Colloquium
in Applied Linguistics and TESOL
The Colloquium / GSCALT
This series aims to provide an opportunity for graduate students in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi to present their research in preparation for submitting to journals and presenting at conferences.
A graduate student-run organization, the Colloquia will be held during the Fall and Spring semesters. At each event, one or two students will volunteer to present their original research. The presenters will not only improve their public presentation skills but also receive valuable feedback on their work from their peers and the Modern Languages faculty.
Each hour-long Colloquium will ideally incorporate two 20-minute presentations followed by 10 minutes of questions and feedback for each presenter.

Upon receipt of this document, your presentation will be scheduled for a closer possible Colloquium, and the cover page will be distributed as an invitation (as a departmental poster and via email) to your upcoming presentation.
If you have participated in the first review meeting (virtual) with the GSCALT Committee, in which you have delivered a preliminary version of your presentation and received feedback from the Committee, please check the list here before you ask to schedule the second meeting.
