UMWPL Journal
University of Mississippi Working Papers in Linguistics
The University of Mississippi Working Papers in Linguistics (UMWPL) is a journal created by doctoral students at the University of Mississippi, not only for graduate students at the University of Mississippi but also for graduate students at other universities who wish to publish about the exciting field of linguistics and its subfields. We believe that this journal benefits doctoral students by allowing them to publish their work. Probably the most valuable benefit will be fostering the students’ understanding of the publishing process. We hope that the UMWPL encourages graduate students to write more and produce better academic papers and prepares them for the competition of publishing. We also believe that the journal will draw professors and doctoral students together, which will undoubtedly help create a cordial and friendly environment in which working together is motivating and enjoyable.
The UMWPL is the peer-reviewed graduate student journal of the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi. UMWPL is an open-access journal that is published annually. The UMWPL graduate student editors rely on the assistance of faculty reviewers, graduate student reviewers, and several faculty mentors who will mentor the graduate student editors and reviewers on how to peer-review and co-review manuscripts.
